Washing clothes

Twice a week I hand-wash my clothes in the village. Hand-washing is probably my least favourite thing about being in the village, so I’m glad it’s just me that I have to do it for! If I had to wash clothes for a husband and kids, it would be a much bigger job. It takes enough time as it is just to wash my own clothes.

In this photo, I have just started rinsing the soap out of my clothes. The water is clear because I’m on the first item. By the time I get to the last items, all the soap is in the water and I don’t know how effective my rinsing is.

Here I am wringing as much water out as I can.

Village – Laundry (post by Bill & Liz)

The village had all mod-cons, such as a tap for doing your laundry at. We appreciate our washing machine much more now!

Here is Liz filling up the ‘washing machine’.
